Web Drawing Manager: FAQ

pricing
q.   How many proposal projects can I create with my Web Drawing Manager account?
a.   Unlimited.

q.   Can users share a User ID?
a.   Yes. A group of users can share one user ID. This will allow you to define the access for that group and use only one Web Drawing Manager user. This is particularly appropriate for view only purposes, where unique user identification may not be important.

languages
q.   How does Web Drawing Manager support Hangule and Kanji and other double byte languages?
a.   Account names, project names, tab labels, subtab labels and data can be entered and viewed in double byte languages such as Korean, Chinese and Japanese. Browser support for any language used is an added prerequiste, however.

tips and techniques
q.   How do you use Group Administration? What is its purpose and how do I assign groups to tasks?
a.   The purpose of groups is to restrict function or access for a specific group of users. Here is how it works:

  • Define groups, such as administrator, project manager, finance, or what ever makes sense to your operation and use.
  • Assign restrictions for each group on a page by page basis. For example the administrator may have no restrictions, contributors may be restricted from viewing the budget, while finance may be restricted from seeing the documents. You have view, add, update and delete restrictions that can be set for each page for each group.
  • Assign members to a group.
  • Any unassigned user has no restrictions. And if no groups are set up, every user has access to all project functions, except project administration.
All administration is handled in the "Group Administration" function, which is available only to users with project administration privileges. What physically happens as a result of your selections in group administration is that links and buttons do not appear, if the user is restricted from use of those functions.
